Experience

With over twenty years of experience across all aspects of civil litigation Mr. Prados applies this broad background to the analysis and resolution of complex estate and real property matters.

Over the course of his career, Mr. Prados has tried dozens of cases in both state and federal courts, with experience spanning domestic relations, employment, collections, commercial litigation, and constitutional law, in addition to trust and estate and real property litigation. he has argued matters before the Virginia Court of Appeals, the Supreme Court of Virginia, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Mr. Prados is particularly adept at presenting complex legal arguments so that courts and clients alike can easily understand them.

Representative Experience at Executive Law Partners

  • Represented high-value debtors in bench trials before the Prince William County Circuit Court, resulting in the avoidance of six-figure damages in two separate matters.
  • Successfully applied Virginia’s slayer statute to protect the interests of child heirs in proceedings before the Loudoun County Circuit Court.
  • Assisted clients in obtaining appointments as Guardians and/or Conservators in multiple Virginia circuit courts.
  • Advised Executors and Conservators in the preparation and submission of inventories and accountings before Commissioners of Accounts throughout Northern Virginia and other jurisdictions.
  • Negotiated and implemented numerous multi-party settlements in estate and trust matters, both with and without the use of mediators.

 

Representative Experience Prior to Executive Law Partners

  • Secured favorable judgments in two bench trials on behalf of a Trustee and Executor in Fairfax County Circuit Court.
  • Won a complex commercial contract dispute before a jury in Fairfax County Circuit Court in the absence of a written agreement.
  • Assisted parties in litigation and negotiation involving the enforcement of easements.
  • Achieved a successful outcome in an employment litigation matter for a high-end sales representative in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.
  • Represented a Buddhist congregation in complex land use and zoning enforcement proceedings.
  • Negotiated and implemented numerous multi-party settlements in estate and trust disputes, both with and without mediators.
